Prior Learning Assessment

The USHE Board of Regents Academic and Student Affairs Committee recently recommended approval of R472 Credit for Prior Learningwhich was approved by the Board at the November 15th Board of Regents meeting.

This policy establishes the foundation by which public higher education institutions will provide students with opportunities to earn credit for prior learning by demonstrating competencies acquired through life experience. The policy outlines the responsibilities of the System and institutions in communicating, awarding, and transcripting credit earned for prior learning.

The Academic and Student Affairs Committee established the Prior Learning Committee to oversee this process.
